Swam 5 x 6 laps for a total of 1500m.  I am starting to feel more comfortable in the water.

Core work.

Glad you got your weekly swim in! Nice track work yesterday! You seem to really enjoy your workouts! Great to hear you had a weekend get away with Doone!

The Brooks pure connect sounds like nice racing flats or are they minimalist shoes?

Good job, bish!

So Bro-Rhett, where are your long and short term goals?

From Rhett on Thu, Feb 09, 2012 at 10:27:05 from 170.215.58.122

Thanks Smooth. I think my new shoes are considered light weight trainers with a minimalist flare to them. I'm not sure. I just know I like how they feel when I run in them.

Slick, my long term and short term goals are still the same. I really would like to run a fast UVM and get a BQ time that would put me in corral #1. I figure I need around a 2:50 to do that. It will be tough, but not impossible.

Aaaah ... water!!! I almost bought the Brooke's Pure Connect a couple of weeks ago. I kept going back and forth between the Pure Connects and the Pure Flows. :) :) :) I ended up the the Pure Flows and am really starting to love them. I am now planning on buying the Pure Connects as well in the very near future!!! :) :) :) (Possibly tomorrow.)

Teena, I just googled the Pure Flows. They seem to be very similar to the pure connect just a little higher off the ground and 1 oz heavier. Looks like a good shoe though.

How's the tri training coming along? My plan is to survive the swim and bike and then kick butt on the run. :)

Rhett~

I bought the Pure Connects and ran in them today. I like them too!!! :)

What tri are you doing?

From Rhett on Fri, Feb 10, 2012 at 17:23:41 from 170.215.58.122

Teena, I'm doing the Havasu Triathlon in March. It's a cool one because it is the opening triathlon of the season for all the college teams. Some of those kids are amazing. There is still time to come and do it. March in Havasu is beautiful. Your family would love it.
