23.7 mile bike on a cool morning; I actually wore long sleeves.

19.1 mph- my legs must have been tired from the long ride Satruday.

I was going to run last night, but I was so tired I fell asleep at 8:30.  I sure felt rested when I got up this morning though.

47 minute lake swim.  I was definitely swimming faster this morning. I am finally getting used to the wetsuit.

10/4 Brick

Bike- 10 miles hard through hilly SARA Park

Run- 4 hilly miles at about 90% of race effort; AP 6:49

This is probably the last really hard effort I will put in before race day.  It wasn't far but I definitely pushed harder than normal and everything felt great!

After reviewing my taper schedule, I decided it would be best if I took a rest day today, so after seminary this morning I just relaxed around the house and played my guitar until I headed off for work.  It was actually weird to have so much free time in the morning.

Blake and I decided to swim in the lake this morning in the area where the race will be.  There is often boat traffic through that area, so our friend Chick agreed to come out and paddle baord by us while we swam.  I think we did the full race distance 1.2 miles, somewhere around 37 minutes.  The water felt great today, maybe even a bit warm for the wetsuits. I hope it is a bit cooler on race day.

Then we road most of the first lap of the race course: 23.6 miles- 17.2 mph. We took it really easy and it felt like a really nice recovery ride.

It was such a beautiful morning. I hope a week from tomorrow we get weather like that.

I have to spend the whole day at a soccer coach training thing, so I had to get up early to get in my run this morning.

9 miles; 8:47

I took it really slow and easy as my final longish run before next Saturday's half IM.
