Well I had my fun with the 5k last week. Now it is time again to focus on getting my body ready to train for a marathon.

I was back at the gym on the TM this morning.

1 mile warm up @ 8:00

9 miles hills level 4 (3.6% max) @ 6:40 --1 hour

1 mile cool down @ 8:00

This was the run I was hoping to be able to do by Jan 1. I guess I am ahead of schedule. It was more like a 1/2 marathon pace effort, especially with all the hills, but I'm going to start calling 6:40 my marathon pace. Maybe if I keep doing that my mind will convince my body that 6:40 is my marathon pace.

Wow so fast!!! I am sure your mind will soon agree that 6:40 is marathon pace. I am happy to hear you are ahead of the game and ready to go.

Thanks you guys. The cool thing is that it just didnt'feel fast. Today though, my legs are a bit sore for the first time in months. I guess I pushed harder than I thought.

That workout makes me cry. I can not run that fast downhill, ouch!!!

Which marathon are you training for (I should know, but I do not)?? And way to be ahead of schedule. Is the foot pain all but gone?

From Rhett on Tue, Nov 24, 2009 at 14:08:57 from 74.42.168.210

Kelli, I'm training to get ready to start training for Boston. I'll be doing some halfs and possibly a full in Sedona before Boston, but they will all be part of the training plan for Boston.

This morning my foot was bothering me a little bit during my warm up mile, but it really doesn't seem to affect my running lately.

From Kelli on Tue, Nov 24, 2009 at 14:14:45 from 71.219.71.229

Boston was what I was thinking...yeah for NO PAIN after warming up, of course.
