Wednesday night at the gym with the kids. Treadmill tempo run.

1 mile warm up

7 miles, 1% incline 9.1 mph. Mile 7 was tough so I started running 0.25 miles at a time. By mile 6.5 I really wanted to stop, so I increased the speed to 9.2. I then wanted to stop at 6.75 so I increased the speed to 9.3 for the last quarter mile....7 miles in 46:07 (AP 6:35)

1/2 mile cool down.

HyperSpeed Miles: 8.50

What da??!!! If I really want to stop, I press the STOP button, NOT increase the speed! You are one CRAZY FAST SUPERMAN with bionic mental toughness, I tell ya!!!! AWESOME TEMPO RUN!!!

Sweet run, Rhett. I really need to get a new treadmill at home. If mine was working correctly, and not sitting in the corner of my bedroom as a clothes rack, I'd be tempted to jump on it right now!

Oh so that is the Jedi mind trick you use - when you are so dead you want to stop speed up! You are crazy. I think I will stick with when you want to stop count to ten and then stop...or count to ten again.

Smooth, Marc, Dale, Paul, thanks.

Kathie, I have found that sometimes when I am tired if I speed up it actually seems easier than continuing at the same pace I've been pounding out. One of my Jedi Mind tricks.
