The plan called for speed work today.  After a warm up on the arc trainer I did 6,5,4,3,2,1 minute speed intervals at 100% effort with 1 min rest intervals.  I was spent by the last 3 sets, but I pushed as hard as I could.  I then cooled down for a while.  Yesterday I just completely took the day off from exercise.  It was kind of nice.

I seriously can't believe that you can push yourself so hard on an arc trainer. That is some serious mental and physical toughness.

I guess they don't call you PK for nothing!! Oh wait ... perhaps it should be ATK! The ATK Attack!! :)

Got to love the arc trainer - it used to kick my butt all the time. I kind of miss it...

Thanks everyone for making me feel better about my arc training. Pual, yesterday I had it at 3 on the incline (I think incline 2 and 3 are closest to normal running) and 20% resistance. When I do my long "runs" I do the hill setting at level 3.

Yes, it is very similar to the eliptical, but has a longer stride length, so it makes you work a little harder.
