I decided that my foot was finally well enough to play some hoops, so I went up to the church and played with the guys for 2 1/2 hours last night. It was mostly good, but at one point, I made a cut and pop, I think I rupture a little more of my PF tendon. It hurt real bad for a few seconds and then the pain eased to a 2/10 for the rest of the night. I was really worried that I would not be able to walk this morning. I went home and ice massaged the foot real well. When I woke up this morning, to my suprise my foot felt almost perfect, just a very slight twinge that doesn't even register on the pain scale. I decide I better take today off running though just to be safe.

Glad you are doing stuff, but be careful.

I love basketball, but I always get hurt doing it. Or I break my glasses.

I like anything that involves broken glasses. :)

Hope you didnt reinjury it again. That would really set you back. Glad you were able to play some hoop though. Does it seem like your jump shot has gone flat like mine has since I started running??

Are you kidding me! Hoops during the running season you are crazy...especially ward ball.

From Kimmy on Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 19:32:35 from 65.48.64.14

Hey Kathie....I played hoops during running season. I had to school the neighbor boy and teach him a 42 year old lady could beat him.

I do have to agree...I would lay off the "Church Ball" that's not real basketball. That's a war that starts with a pray :)

don't scare us, man! :)

RHEEETTTTTTTT! What are you doing? Take care of yourself (wasn't that you that liked to play soccer right before a big marathon, too??):)

From Smooth on Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 23:28:10 from 71.36.82.218

Kimmy, you're so funny!

Rhett, stay out of trouble, will ya?

From Rhett on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 12:42:57 from 74.42.169.243

Mark, my jump shot has always been flat.

Kathie, when is it not running season. I have no races coming up, so I gotta live life.

Kimmy, yeah Church Ball is usually like that, but ours is not organized church ball, so there aren't any brawls and we don't start with a prayer. We're just out there having fun, but very competitively.

Tim, I was super scared when it first popped. Feeling good today though.

Marc, I'm just living life and having fun. If I'm always worried about getting hurt, then I'll miss out on a lot of fun. That being said, the time I played the soccer match in a very competative league 2 weeks before Boston was DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!

Smooth, I'm trying to stay out of trouble. Thanks for the reminder.

Hey Rhett, thanks for the reminder that running is just part of the full experience of life....sometimes I get so focused on a single race, that I start to fail to see the joy of everything else that life has to offer. Thanks, I needed that! :)
