P90X Day 88

It was a Yoga day, but I didn't feel like running, so I opted to do Plyometrics.  After a few weeks of doing my plyo/run workout that I made up, plyometrics seemed pretty darn easy today.

P90X Day 89

Core followed by some extra ab work and some extra pushups.  I made it 89 days without missing a day of P90X!  I did substitute some running (mostly speed work) for some of the cardio and all the yoga workouts, but other than that followed the program as prescribed.  I can say P90X really does transform your body when you push yourself.

Tomorrow is day 90. I'm supposed to do Kenpo, but I'll be leaving the house about 2 am to catch my flight to the Bahamas, so I'll just have to have Doone help me find a way to get in some cardiovascular work to celebrate the final day of P90X. :)

It was really hard to get myself out of bed this morning to run, but eventually I made it.  The weather was so nice in the Bahamas and it is cold here.  We had a great trip and I actually ran a number of times. Doone came with me on two of my runs. It was nice to run along the beautiful beaches.

Anyways, I ran 6 miles this morning.

2 warm up

3 tempo (averaged 7:05)

1 cool down

I will call that my first training run for the Phoenix Marathon. Hopefully I will be able to train injury free for the next 4 months and run a good race in March.

10 easy miles.

That was my first double digit mile run since I ran UVM. I took it nice and easy.  It felt good to out again in the early peaceful hours before the rest of the world was awake.

I'm visiting my sister in Lindon for the holiday. I headed out on a runa nd ended up on some trails going up Mt. Baldy. It was fun running on trails. I ended up going about 5 miles.

I tried to run to the top of Mt. Baldy, but it was too steep so I was too slow so I ran out of time before I had to turn around.  Coming down was pretty exciting though.

8 miles

There is a track around the field where Chase practices so I figured I'd get in some speed work during his practice.

1 mile warm up

5 x 1 mile at half marathon pace (6:24, 6:38, 6:38, 6:40, 6:45) with 1/4 mile walk/jog recovery.

1 mile cool down

My pace was way off on my first mile and that really made the rest of the workout tough.
