Ben, someone I ran with years ago when he was a new runner thinking about trying to BQ, was in town yesterday afternoon and we went for a run together on the trails. He has become an incredible runner. A few months ago he ran a 2:47 marathon and he has finished a bunch of ultras including hundred Ks and hundred milers. Just 2 weeks ago he did a 100k. He says I’m to blame for getting him started on his running, but he has taken running to a whole different level of crazy and amazing than I have reached. Anyways, we did about 8 miles in the heat of the day and he about ran me into the ground. It was fun to see him and how effortlessly he moves up and down the hills even in the technical parts of the trails.

No good deed goes unpunished! Did Ben ever BQ ?

Maybe he's a ghost and that's why it looks so effortless.

Did you ever recover after this run or did you go on vacation......what's up ?

Hey Slick. Im just taking a break from the blog and from running for a bit. Ive been doing a weights bases fitness class daily. I plan on resuming running and blogging in July. Hopefully i will have addressed all those muscles Ive been neglecting over the years and will be ready to focus on another sub 3 attempt in November at Big Bear.

Good plan! I know that since I got back in the gym for real my running has greatly improved and with a new and improved motivation! Keep up the great training!

May 11 This is my birthday! Thanks for running on my birthday! Hope you're doing well? I've just been taking some time off. :-)

I've left it up there to honor you IJR. :) I'm also enjoying my nice little break from running but still getting in a serious workout daily. The first time I did the class I've been doing I puked afterwards. I was hooked after that. Now that my body has adjusted to this new kind of workout, I feel myself getting stronger. Hopefully that will translate into better running this fall.

Im currently chilling on Moorea in the middle of the South Pacific. I have been exercising hard 6 days a week before I left. When I get back next week Ill start running and blogging again. I dove with a bunch of really big sharks today. They were some great dives.
