I won't be at the gym tomorrow so I did my final pullups today.  I did 13, so I improved by 8.  That may sound good, but it is a bit dissappointing since after about 2 weeks of the competition I was up to 12 and over the last few weeks have only gotten 1 more and I did work on it 3 times a week the whole time..

After some mild weight training I did 30 mins on the Arc Trainer.  I think I will do some jumping and maybe some core work tonight.

PM

I did about 40 mins of jumping and core exercises.

Sweet job there Rhett. 13 is really quite a huge improvement. Is the contest coming to a close soon?? I got to get on it more.:)

13 pullups?!!! Dang, I can't even get one. Way to go!!!

From rhett on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 13:54:11

I think tomorrow is supposed to be the final day.

From Kathie on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 14:08:27

Oh Rhett I almost beat you with my .3 pull-up (I can't even use the plural pull-ups)! I bet that is why you worked so hard... you thought I might beat you.

Seriously though 13 pull-ups is dang good! I noticed that my running form is better when I work on my back have you noticed a change?

From rhett on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 14:11:16

I agree that doing any core resistance training really helps maintain better running form, especially as I begin to tire at the end of a long hard run.

From Smooth on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 15:54:21

Umm, I googled pullups (to see if there's any trick or proper form in doing it.) I got "Huggies" (as in baby diapers). LOL!!! I am so OVER that or may be TOO OLD for both (the contest and the baby pullups thing).

Kathie,

I think I can do 0.4 pull up. Tomorrow is the final day. Are you scared?

From Kathie on Tue, Jan 06, 2009 at 20:14:17

Oh smooth I don't care if I have to work all night I will turn my .3 into a .45 just to beat you! :0

Stud on the pull ups.

From Teena on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 17:04:04

Rhett,

You are the pullup maestro!! That is AWESOME!! Okay, tell me again, what is your goal for Painters?

From rhett on Wed, Jan 07, 2009 at 17:33:14

I am hoping to get under 1:26 if I'm having a good day. If I'm not having a good day, I'd like to get under 1:28. That is what I ran the 2nd half of SGM in and is my current 1/2 PR.
