I woke up this morning and the themometer read 53 degrees!  I had to check the other one we have and sure enough it also said 53 degees!  What a great morning for a great run!

Today I had a 16 mile fun run planned.  On my 16 milers I like to run what I call my fun pace.  It's the pace where I don't feel like I'm holding back like I do on longer runs and I don't feel like I'm pushing hard like I do on shorter runs.  I do it on a seriously rolling hill course, so my mile splits fluctuate a lot.  After the 15th mile I decided to let my legs go and run a comfortably hard pace.  I did the last mile in 6:31 and still felt pretty good, but was glad to be done.  And guess what.  I had a great, fun time running this morning.

Total run 16 miles, 1:57:26  AP 7:20

Did you post the temperature before or after you read how cold it is up here? If it was after you are a cruel cruel man!

I am glad you had a great run even if I am jealous of the temps.

Nice job Rhett. How do you feel you are going to do at Painters? Do you have a goal time?

From Rhett on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 15:02:24 from 216.67.211.75

Kathie, I wasn't trying to be cruel, just excited at how warm it was.

Teena, thanks

Mack, I have no goal time for Painter's. I do not plan to do any tapering except I'll probably take the Friday before the race off. It will just depend on how my legs are feeling that day.

From Smooth on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 15:42:01 from 174.23.217.47

HOW COOL is that? Sounds like a PERFECT FUN run! I might be able to do 7:20 AP in my next life! Your run puts a smile on my face! :)

Can't wait to see you at Painter's. Are you going to Cougar's bday bash?

From Rhett on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 16:26:00 from 216.67.211.75

Smooth, yep, I'm planning on heading over to Cougar's. Hopefully there will be a decent number of forumites there.

16 miles in 1:27:26? You should kill at Painter's. You should finish in about 1:15:xx. Cool.

From Teena Marie on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 22:27:47 from 174.52.45.85

Good thing you got in that extra workout!!!! Who could be satisfied with 16 at 7:20???

nice run!

From Rhett on Sat, Jan 09, 2010 at 20:11:42 from 74.32.208.70

Oops, I just read Dale's comment. I typoed. It was 1:57:26 which is a 7:20 pace, 1:27 for 16 miles would be crazy fast.
