I've had a bit of a sinus cold the past few days, so unlike diehard Teena, I took yesterday off and today I just did some abs and core work at home.  Hopefully I'll be feeling more like working out tomorrow.  The bright side of taking a few days off is that my leg is hardly tender to the touch any more.  I have to push fairly hard on the SF sight to feel any discomfort.

Doone has the same sinus cold, but since she is in training, I sent her to the gym this morning for some mp miles.  Ahh, the relaxation of not training for anything.  I think I may have to make this an annual summer event... not being injured, but just taking time off of the normal grind.  I've enjoyed it so much, I've decided I will no longer be running any fall marathons, not even SGM.

I hope you feel better soon.

Given the injury you are overcoming I think that's a good idea skip any fall marathons this year. There are certainly plenty of miles to be had training for other distances.

Whatever. See you in St. George in October 2011.

Such a good attitude even when sick! Somehow I have a hard time believing that you won't be training for Fall marathons!

Take care of that head cold!

Doone is such a great runner...and very responsive too! I can't believe you sent her to the gym to do tempo run with a sinus cold! I guess she's running for you too, eh?

Can't wait to see you two in 3 weeks!

It has got to be hard to train for a fall marathon in AZ, so I understand that!!! I always feel better in the spring myself.

Hope you two get feeling better.

Hey Rhett...Funny you should mention not running anymore fall marathons. I was just thinking the exact same thing a couple of days ago. I am finding it too difficult to train during the summer while the kids are out of school. I might have to stick to winter and spring marathons. But who know, I will probably end up doing St. George every year. My plans are constantly changing. I have already changed my plans for next year.

I think the word you meant to use in relation to me is "foolish".

No fall marathons? Hmmm ... we'll see how long that lasts! :)

My stinkin' sinus cold lasted stinkin' over a week before it went into these stinkin' stupid root canals and blew my whole stinkin' face up!!! Then the endodontist had to spend a whole stinkin' two hours trying to clean the whole stinkin' mess up.

(I'm a little upset.)

What I am trying to say is: SMART BOY to rest! Now take care of your adorable Doone!!!! :) :) :)

Well Teena, that stinks.

LOL @ Andy.

Rhett, it is not April first. What's the deal.

From Rhett on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 18:17:26 from 74.41.249.102

No deal Paul. It is just so blasted hot here in the summer and I really have enjoyed the break from training for a race. I think I'll just do maintainance in the summers from now on and then ramp up for winter and spring marathons.

From Burt on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 23:05:25 from 68.225.214.248

What marathons are there in the spring and fall?
